Best UK beaches you can reach on a single charge

From Birmingham to the beach – the best coastal destinations you can reach in your electric car off a single charge have been revealed.

The fear of suddenly running out of charge on the motorway has been eliminated. The team at LeaseElectricCar.co.uk have researched which beaches the UK’s most popular electric vehicles can travel to on one charge.

Using Birmingham as the central location, researchers have discovered the furthest possible beach that families can travel to this summer.

And with UK beach days becoming the new holiday alternative this year, the prospect of not getting there on a single charge can be daunting- especially with all of the family in the car.

Whether it’s enjoying the beautiful Norfolk coast or the idyllic beaches in Newquay, there is a beach for (almost) every vehicle regardless of its range limitations.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E for example has a real range of 260 miles, which means travelling from Birmingham all the way to the stunning Sandy Bay in Exmouth is possible with one charge.

If you’re the proud owner of a Smart ForFour EQ, the 57 mile real range will mean that you can drive halfway to Rhyl Beach- a quick pitstop might be needed to make it the rest of the way.

Other popular models such as the Tesla Model 3 and the Corsa-E can get you to the Norfolk Coast Path and Cromer Beach respectively with a few miles to spare.

A spokesperson for LeaseElectricCar.co.uk said: ”With travel still limited in and out of the UK Brits are likely to be going on plenty of road trips this summer.

“So we’ve done some research and located the best coastal locations that these popular electric cars would make it to on a single charge.

“There is always a worry that you might not make it to your destination off of one charge, so we’ve taken the hassle out of finding the best summer spots to take your vehicle.”
