The show which is not running in 2021, for the first time in 15 years, got fans giddy every year to see the auditionees bravely take the stage.
Brits loved the original audition room where singers would stand in front of the judges, and belt out their chosen song acoustically. And, let’s be serious – we all loved watching the bad auditions the most, right?
The infamous ‘no’ from judges has caused uproar with auditionees over the years, from water throwing, punches, and roaring screams.

Ariel the ‘holistic vocal coach’
Ariel was the ‘scary’ contestant who came in saying she knew she could win the show with her experience as a holistic vocal coach.
Despite not making it through the audition stage and leaving Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole largely unimpressed, her audition tape has been viewed 7.6M times on YouTube making her quite the icon of the show.
She walked into the room and said: “First of all, I am not a number I am a human being.”
Mid-song Ariel proceeded to roar leaving the judges lost for words.

Chico’s hit single was one of those songs you simply couldn’t get out of your head – and it became a running joke every time someone asked what time it was, another would reply: “it’s Chico time”.
Since then the start has launched his own fitness classes and books.
In 2018, he suffered from a blood clot on the brain but has since recovered.
Rylan was best known for his iconic crying when Nicole Scherzinger told him he was going to the live shows.
Despite being the ‘entertainment act’ of the show than known for having an impeccable singing voice, the bold Essex character has gone on to become a well-known television presenter.
Former best friends Abbey and Lisa made X Factor history when they started to singing and stopped to have a fight.
The audition ended when Abbey punched Lisa before the pair stormed off the stage screaming at one another.
After the audition Abbey was interviewed by a local newspaper where she posed naked wearing boxing gloves.
She said: “The whole experience was overwhelming and the incident has now put a lot of stress on my family.
“Because of what happened Lisa and I aren’t friends any more and there are groups being set up on Facebook, saying I deserve a slap, which is horrible.”
Amelia was voted off during the first week of live shows, but was voted back in after Frankie Cocozza was axed after boasting about taking cocaine.
She made the final and released single You Bring Me Joy which did well in the charts.
