Passionate pictures of Hull City fans overjoyed as Tigers promoted

These brilliant pictures taken during and after the Hull City match on Saturday say it all.

Tigers fans were overcome with joy to see Hull City promoted back to the Championship after one season in League One.

Needing to win at Lincoln City to make sure their stay in the third tier was as short as possible, the Tigers had to weather an almighty scare in the second half having been in front at half-time but they managed just that.

And their fans were ecstatic – in the end.

Josh Magennis’ fourth minute goal had looked to have Grant McCann’s men on their way after a dominant first half display, but Lincoln improved after the break to deservedly equalise when Lewis Montsma crashed in.

But McCann’s men regrouped, a host of changes came and when Tom Eaves was flattened inside the box, Mallik Wilks coolly rolled in the penalty with just seven minutes remaining to seal promotion at the first time of asking to spark huge celebrations on the pitch at the end of the game.
