Parts of the East Riding looked more like a scene from the Alps this week as skiers and snowboarders made the most of the home turf conditions.
Gliding down the hills in Brantingham, near Brough, skiers raced alongside snowboarders and sledgers.
Wearing all the gear, the skiers were out on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in what looked like “perfect” conditions.
It brought some light relief to lockdown, homeschooling and working from home and turned the otherwise sleepy village into a haven of activity.
It seems sledging is permitted during lockdown, if people use it as their opportunity to exercise, reports the Manchester Evening News.
If you follow the rules in staying local and staying with your household, it would seem that building a snowman and sledging is permitted if you are using it as an opportunity for exercise.
The exercise guidance states: “You can continue to exercise alone, with one other person or with your household or support bubble. This should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.”
